Ursula Platte

Ursula Platte is a licensed Marriage Family Therapist in the State of Hawaii since 2004 and a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She is also credentialed as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in Hawaii. Since January of 2013 she is in private practice after being the Program Director for the Aloha House Residential Substance Abuse Program on Maui for 5 years where she started to work as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2002. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology from Germany and worked with children, families and couples in a Family Guidance Center in Germany before moving to Maui. She is specialized in working with individuals, families and couples who are impacted by chemical dependency, mental health disorders, co-occurring disorders, PTSD and complex PTSD. Her therapeutic approaches are psychodynamic, emotionally focused and intergenerational working with the family dynamics over several generations. She holds a certification in EMDR, an evidence-based therapeutic approach to heal trauma and is also trained in Brainspotting, another successful therapeutic approach for the treatment of PTSD and CPTSD.
